Over 3000 Made in USA Consumer Products! |

Made By Yankees is closing the information gap between consumers and manufacturers!
The information gap is evident in every day conversation. You've probably heard people commenting that "There is nothing Made in the USA any more." While it is true that some products aren't made in the USA any more, there is still a considerable number of products that are being produced domestically. The problem is that the domestically made products aren't sold in the "big box" stores where many of us shop. It stands to follow... if the product isn't in the store that claims to be "one stop shopping" then the product doesn't exist. This is flawed thinking. The products do exist, but until now there hasn't been a tool, or resource, to help consumers find the "Made in USA" products.
This is where MadeByYankees comes in. By researching "Made in USA" consumer products, gathering information and making it available to the consumer, we have developed some what of an education system. Everything we research is shared with the consumer. Products that we find and confirm as "Made in USA" are entered into the comprehensive database of over 3,000 consumer products. The database goes one step further and provides the consumer with a retail website or brick and mortar retailer where consumers can buy the products that they are looking for!
The database includes everything from Appliances, Art, Athletic Equipment, and Apparel, to Sporting Goods,
Tools, Toys, and Window Treatments.
Side Note: When the research team comes up empty handed, the research is posted on the blog. Use the search tool on the blog to find information about Alarm Clocks, Toasters, and Tea Kettles. |

Candy Canes! We've been on the hunt for Candy Canes made in the USA for over a year. It's been a tricky search. Here is what we've found.
Spangler Dum-Dum, Smarties, and Jelly Belly Candy Canes are Made in USA. Peppermint candy canes are made both in USA and Mexico. You will have to ask specifically for the Made in USA product!

It is our goal at MadeByYankees to ensure that our site is the fastest and easiest way to find Made in USA products. That is why we are examining two issues on our search page. It is obvious that our website is not laid out in the traditional fashion. It's not graphically oriented and it's not setup for sophisticated surfing. It is the absence of those things that make the search function easy. However...
Issue 1 The search function is a one word search function. If you miss spell a word or attempt to enter a two word description you will most certainly get "Item not found". Too little information.
Issue 2 On the other hand, if a search is performed with a popular sequence of letters (i.e. cap or toy) or by category, too much information is provided. This scenario requires the visitor to search through many screens of data.
Both defeat our goals! These issues may take some time to work through as I suspect they will require funding and some technical work! While we recognize our shortcomings, we acknowledge what they are, and appreciate your patience as we work through the issues.
